I'm A Lucky Little Bird

I want to wish my Mommy a Happy Mother's Day. She is the best mommy I've ever had.

My former owner left me at the humane society and then I was taken to the bird sanctuary. I was in a cage with other birdies. Then about 5 weeks ago, a lady came for a visit. They took me out of my cage and she said how beautiful I was. They put me on her finger and she talked to me and she was very nice. Then I walked up to her shoulder and sat there and told her I was a pretty bird. She laughed and said "Do you want to come home with me?" Did I?? Wow, she was going to adopt me!! YAY!! I didn't think I would get adopted since I'm 7 years old and there were other birdies there who were younger. But this nice lady liked me!!

They put me in a carrier and the nice lady took me home in her pretty car. She had music playing in her car and she sang to me. So I sang too!  On the way home, we stopped at the birdie store so my new Mommy could get me the same food I was used to. She also bought me some millet and food dishes and toys :)

When we got home, she had a nice cage all set up waiting for me. My new Mommy gives me LOTS of attention and takes good care of me. I'm very spoiled now because I'm the only bird here and Mommy is home all day to play with me and talk to me.  She makes me birdie bread and vegetables and other good stuff.

I am such a happy bird now, and I know how lucky I am. This morning when Mommy uncovered my cage, I sang her a pretty song for Mother's Day so she knows I love her.

May 21st - Mommy wonders why she buys me toys. This is my favorite thing to play with right now :-) It's the shoelace that ties my cuttlebone to my cage. I like that little plastic thing on the end. :-))

June 7th - Yesterday Mommy and I went to a bird behaviorist because I have some bad habits that I learned when I was younger. The lady was nice to me and taught me how to be a good birdie.
